About

The Evolved Collection
The Evolved Collection, is a range of carefully and
consciously created clothing and lifestyle products, handmade by me using
secondhand materials. I believe that a sustainable approach to design is the
necessary future. We all have a responsibility to care for our planet,
supporting ethical and eco-friendly brands instead of major fast fashion brands
is a fun and easy way to do that.
Using secondhand materials and garments, I give new purpose
and life to items that would otherwise end up in a landfill. Each piece in my
collection is unique, with its own story to tell. I source materials from a
variety of places, including thrift stores, garage sales, friendly donations
and even my own closet.
Committed to be a zero-waste business, I collect and use
even the smallest byproducts of my work; I often use these scraps to make a
range of accessories and lifestyle products. Using unavoidable waste like
fabric remnants, threads, paper waste and the addition of some general
household recycling, I create accessories, art, and all manner of beautiful and
functional things.

Hi!
My name is Kristyan, I am the creator and owner of The Evolved Collection. I am an artist, designer and imperfect environmentalist living and creating on beautiful Peramangk country.
Fiercely passionate about the preservation and protection of our planet and driven by my innate compulsion to create, I founded The Evolved Collection, where I blend my love for art and design with my unwavering commitment to sustainability.
Through The Evolved Collection, I strive to craft distinctive, one-of-a-kind pieces that not only look great and serve a practical purpose, but also make a positive difference to the environment and the community.

Sustainable Sourcing
Sustainability is at the forefront of my design philosophy. Using secondhand materials and upcycling them into new and beautiful designs is not only environmentally responsible but also creates unique and one-of-a-kind
pieces while honouring. By sourcing materials from a range of places, like
community thrift stores, garage sales, friendly donations and even my own
closet, I am able to create a diverse collection that tells a story and reflects our commitment to reducing waste and promoting sustainable fashion.
You can read more about where materials are sourced in each item’s product description.
Green Cleaning
When I bring home materials, they are carefully laundered, with every effort made to do so sustainably. Gentle, eco-friendly detergents are used with rainwater to wash materials and our home uses electricity collected from solar panels on the roof. Once materials are washed, they are air dried in the sun and stored in the studio.
Conscious Construction
All Evolved pieces are lovingly conceptualised and created by me in my home studio. I work mindfully and try to honour the first life of whatever it is that I am working with.
I work consciously to reduce as much waste as possible, with careful cutting and the repurposing of tiny scraps and remnants, The Evolved Collection operates on a nearly zero-waste basis.
