Vintage Wednesday
Vintage Wednesday
On Wednesdays we wear vintage! This upcycled blouse was made from a dated vintage floral dress with some wear and tear. The unique design features black polka dot mesh ruffles on the shoulders and a button-up front for easy wear, with the original vintage buttons. The waist is completely adjustable with a silky ribbon, ensuring a comfortable fit for a 6 to 16. This top is not only unique and stylish but also eco-friendly, giving new life to a pre-loved garment.
Garment Measurements:
Sustainable Sourcing: The vintage dress that forms the base of this top was thrifted by me a number of years ago. There was some wear and tear to the sleeves and skirt, so I chopped them off! The black polka dot mesh that makes up the ruffle sleeves and black waist ribbon were donated to my stash by an environmentally conscious individual.
Conscious Construction: While original item construction standards are unknown, by upcycling this damaged garment, it has been saved from landfill and given new life. Circularity in action.
Materials: This garment is made with mixed synthetic fabrics. Careful laundering is recommended to reduce the release of microplastics.
Care instructions: Consider if your garment really needs washing, or if a simple spot clean or air out could do the trick first. Gentle handwash if possible, to reduce micrcroplastics in the waterways! Otherwise, wash with similar colours in cool to lukewarm water with a gentle eco-friendly laundry detergent.
